In the pastoral community of Camarillo, a historic mansion with peaceful, park-like grounds and a historic red barn offers a rare setting for all kinds of events—especially weddings. The product of a romantic gesture, this turn-of-the-century Queen Anne-style estate was built in 1892 by City’s namesake, Adolfo Camarillo, for his new bride Isabele.

The splendid heritage structure and its remaining 4.5 acres have been lovingly restored by the Camarillo Ranch Foundation, and today visitors tour the ranch’s original stables, stroll through the beautiful gardens, and explore a living museum expertly reconstructed inside the mansion. Your own friends and family can enjoy the same diversions when they attend special gatherings here.

If you come to wed at the ranch, you have a choice of three lovely gardens. One is the East Garden, a manicured lawn surrounded by trees and luxuriant foliage where you can exchange vows in front of a bronze-roofed gazebo. The other is the West Garden on the opposite side of the mansion, which features its own fountain and a lush border of trees. The expansive Front Lawn, beneath the scattered shade of magnificent mature trees. One specimen, a fabulous Moreton Bay fig tree, displays an intricate root system—symbolic of a knot well tied! The Front Lawn holds 600 or more guests, and adapts to whatever mood you envision, from a posh garden soirée to a festive family celebration.

Follow the ceremony with a cocktail hour in one of the gardens while you snap a few photos as newlyweds. A grand staircase in the mansion’s foyer is a wonderful place to stage group portraits, and an alcove opposite features stained glass and scrollwork. You’ll also appreciate the Bride’s Room, a feminine and floral salon where you and your wedding party can put the finishing touches to your finery.

The ranch’s historic Red Barn offers the ideal backdrop for indoor festivities. Originally constructed in 1905, a recent renovation has preserved the look of the classic American structure, complete with a brick-red façade trimmed in white and a whimsical weathervane on top. The barn’s rustic chic ambience is coupled with 21st century amenities, so your guests’ comfort. The neutral décor and soaring wooden rafters beg for your own elegant embellishments– antique chandeliers or drapery, for example. Spacious enough to hold 250 for a reception and still allow for dancing on the sealed concrete floor, the barn also boasts two sets of double doors and windows that can be opened to the country breeze.

The ranch’s exclusive in-house caterer, Command Performance, has a 30 plus year history of providing exceptional catering service throughout Ventura, Los Angeles and Santa Barbara counties. You can entrust them to craft your preferred culinary experience and provide service with grace and style.

The Camarillo Ranch is a California designated historic site and is run by the nonprofit organization, the Camarillo Ranch Foundation, which is charged with the mission of preserving the historic home and legacy of Adolfo Camarillo for future generations to enjoy.  Whether you envision a nostalgic Victorian-inspired fête or sleek modern elements amid a one-of-a-kind backdrop, the Camarillo Ranch provides a flexible, scenic venue for you to create your own history!
